Table Tennis Rother is working with a number of partners to increase activity in the Pebsham area of Bexhill. We are working with Rother District Council (Active Rother), The Pebsham Community Hub and Cllr Gareth Delandy to get more people active in an area of Bexhill deemed to be very inactive . There no outdoor facilities to play sport in the area as well as limited opporuntities for indoor events. Currently we are delivering a Junior Session providing opportunities for children and young people in the pebsham area to increase their activity through Table Tennis. So far this has been well received by a number of enthusiastic young people who are developing their skills and interests through coaching ,fun and social play. We are greatful to Rother District Council for providing start off funding to enable this opportunity to take place. The club is currently working with partners to provide an opportunity for a Senior Social Session at the same venue providing the older community to benefit from the health and social benefits that playing table tennis can provide. The response has been encouraging and we hope to be able to launch something after Easter. As things develop the club aims to organise a community club for all ages provding coaching, leadership and some form of competition. The venue is also suitable for a low level tournement. In addition to our current partners we are lookingto connect to local primary schools to offer at least one after school club which will link to the activities at the Pebsham Community Hub.
