Our latest addtion to our Extended Schools clubs has proven to be a great hit with pupils at Sandown Primary in Hastings. After a trial period in the Summer Term which consisted of activities using dining tables and other equipment. based around the TTKidz Schools programme, the club, with the help of Active Sussex and Sports England funding purchased 4 new tables and other equipment. Since September the club has grown and now has a full compliment of children going into term two. Four Butterfly Table Tennis Tables, Eco Friendly bats and Aerobic Table Tennis Equipment have allowed the children to enjoy a number of activities both skill based and importantly fun based. The Children are working through the clubs Bronze Skills award and making excellent progress. It is also a delight to see a good balance of girls and boys playing. As many in the sport will be aware it is very difficult to attract girls into Table Tennis so this is very encouraging from a school that is building a fantastic range of sporting opportunities for its pupils.
