About Table Tennis

Table Tennis is a fast, exciting and competitive sport .... as well as a relaxing, healthy activity. Thought to have started in England in the 1880’s as a parlour or after dinner game based in lawn tennis, it developed into a competitive sport in the early 20th century and grew rapidly into the worldwide, Olympic sport it is today. Who Plays...? Table Tennis is truly a ‘sport for all’ attracting participants from ages 5 - 80+ and all sections of the community. it is an integrated sport where male and female, able bodied and disabled players can play together . In England around 2 million people pay with approximately 40,000 affiliated to the Table Tennis England (TTE) and playing in organised competitions.

Table Tennis Rother is a recognisd child friendly and safe organisationn directly affiliated to Table Tennis England, the sports governing body in England. We are a Table Tennis England 4 Star Ability Premier Club with Sport England Clubmark Status. We welcome all abilities and ages including those with a disability and can provide all the equipment you need to enjoy a social game as well as a chance to learn new skills if required. All our coaches are qualified and DBS chected. We are the most proactive Table Tennis organisation in East Sussex with the aim of developing the sport throughout the area including Battle, Bexhill, Eastbourne, Hastings and Rye. We work with our partners to develop opportunities for those in the local community to play table tennis from helping schools develop after school opportunities to clubs in the community. In addition we help other organisations develop and deliver special table tennis projects as well as provide opportunities for young players to develop theri skills through competitions such as Junior Leagues, Banded Events and the National Cadet League.

Local After Schools Clubs Rye Primary Academy Sacred Heart Primary - Hastings Saxon Mount Academy - Hastings Little Commmon Community School Rye College Academy Bexhill Academy * After school clubs are only open to students who attend these schools are are provided in case your child attends one of these schools and is interested in playing.
